Ocean Geographic and The Underwater Club launch a biannual program dedicated to recognizing underwater photographers, offering an international platform where visual excellence meets a commitment to oceanic life.
A program to promote underwater photography
This is not just an underwater photo contest. This unique initiative is for both emerging talents and established professionals. The objective? To showcase creativity, encourage artistic evolution, and actively support photographers committed to ocean conservation.

This program embodies the commitment of Ocean Geographic and The Underwater Club to accompany photographers in their journey and offer them international visibility.
How to participate?
To submit your application, you simply need to present a portfolio composed of your 10 best shots taken since November 1, 2020. Each image must be accompanied by a caption (20 to 100 words) outlining the context and story of the shot, as well as a brief personal introduction of at least 100 words.
Through this portfolio, you share not only your perspective, but also your passion, commitment, and the values that drive you.
Once received, all submissions will be reviewed by the Ocean Geographic Consultative Editorial Committee.
Who can apply?
To apply, you must be a member of the Underwater Club and pass the seven basic photography knowledge quizzes with 80% or more (no need to review the course content if you already have the skills — simply validate your knowledge).
You don’t need to be a public figure or influencer to succeed.
Portfolios are judged solely on their merit: technical excellence, artistic vision, originality, and narrative strength.
As a reference, selected applications generally reflect the quality of images used in articles published in Ocean Geographic or awarded in major underwater photography competitions.
Application fees
The fees support the dedicated review process by the editors and board members of Ocean Geographic.
Standard fee: 250 USD
Early Bird: 200 USD (first 50 applicants)
Two distinctions
Selected applications will receive one of the following distinctions:
– Ocean Geographic Photographer (OGP): to reward excellence and impact in underwater photography.
– Associate Ocean Geographic Photographer (AOGP): to highlight a great promise for the future and remarkable potential.
Becoming an OGP or AOGP provides exceptional visibility and privileges reserved for ambassadors of underwater imagery.
