A New Era for Hurghada

For many divers, Hurghada sometimes evokes images of overcrowding and damaged reefs. However, after three decades, Daniel Brinckmann rediscovered this destination in a new light. His return was synonymous with promises: encounters with dolphins, exploration of enchanting reefs, discovery of impressive drop-offs, historical wrecks, and large marine predators. Not to mention ideal sites for macro photography, where the absence of ships on the horizon offers a unique experience.

The Magic of Dolphins at Fanadir

During a dive at the Fanadir drop-off, dolphins stole the show, captivating the attention of all divers. The « World of Silence » was disrupted by their clicks and whistles. The large dolphins, both curious and playful, observed the divers before darting gracefully into the depths. A group of nine dolphins, indifferent to the divers, approached within arm’s reach, captivating hearts, just as one might imagine in Rangiroa or Socorro.

After this encounter, the Sha’ab el Erg site presented itself as a true living painting. Colorful, clean, and healthy reefs stretch as far as the eye can see, teeming with life. Yellow-striped snappers (Lutjanus kasmira) and species typical of the Red Sea, like silky butterflyfish (Heniochus intermedius) and masked yellow butterflyfish (Chaetodon semilarvatus), mingle with corals emerging above the sand.
