Divers, the safety of your equipment is paramount! Meet Georges RUGGERI, a passionate expert who has been overseeing your diving tanks since 1982. His career has taken him from the merchant navy to the creation of Alpha Requalification, a company dedicated to the requalification of diving bottles and pressure equipment (ESP).
Journey of a Passionate Man
Born in Corte in Haute-Corse in 1961, Georges RUGGERI quickly embraced the maritime world.
- 1976: Diploma of polyvalent sailor, merchant navy.
- 1981: Diploma in welding SOA and SEA.
- 1982: Started at Établissements Doyen (future SMR), becoming workshop manager and head of the diving department.
- 2005: Creation of Corsica Sub, renamed Alpha Requalification in 2014.
Georges welcomes us to his workshop in La Garde (Var), a space of over 300 m². The atmosphere is set by the posters of Corsica and his Moor’s Head T-shirt.
Alpha Requalification: Specialist in Safety
How was Alpha Requalification born? Georges recounts: « After a diploma in marine studies and years of navigation, then a diploma in welding, I was hired at the Établissements Doyen by ‘Papy Doyen’, a figure in diving. After SMR, I created Corsica Sub with Jean-Michel Thibert from Atlantis Homopalmus, which became Alpha Requalification in 2014. »
