A high-level arena

The Yves Blanc pool, a fully renovated 50 m pool, will serve as the setting for this competition on February 7, 8, and 9, 2025. With its eight lanes and modern infrastructure, it regularly hosts exceptional sporting events. Pays d’Aix Natation, a reference club in finswimming, has a France Center and boasts a rich track record of international medals.

Athletes like dolphins

Finswimming is a spectacular aquatic glide sport, practiced in pools and natural environments, with monofins or bifins. This discipline allows swimmers to reach speeds over 13 km/h, roughly 35 seconds per 100 m. Although niche, it is attracting more and more French, with about 10,000 to 15,000 NAP licensees in 2024, according to the FFESSM. Created within the French Federation of Underwater Studies and Sports in 1962 to develop its sporting character, finswimming was recognized by the International Olympic Committee in 1985. Open to all age categories, it holds the status of a high-level sport with the Ministry.
