The objectives of l’Ile Eau

Created just 1 year ago, the association L’Ile Eau aims to highlight, disseminate, and share the messages of active, inspired, and inspiring people in the service of the Earth, humanity, and life. With values based on the principles of relational and environmental ecology, Nadia Bonnard and Émilie Ardizzone, the two co-founders, are committed to planting the seeds of harmony between body and mind, between humans and the world that surrounds and includes them.

Their motto? « Be the change you wish to see in the world » (Gandhi). To promote this « body-mind-environment » alignment and invite people to consciously live more harmoniously and virtuously, the association organizes conferences, screenings/debates, acoustic concerts, meditative sound journeys, artistic performances…

A day with Jean-Marc Barr

It was in this context that it invited a dozen people in early May to participate in an  » immersive vibrational experience” aboard the sailboat l’Ombre du Vent.

Onboard, musician Maxime Le Royer, on handpan and didgeridoo, and his partner Iris on the jaw harp, immersed the participants in an enchanting and meditative sound bath, conducive to discussions. Eglantine Rivière, the kind-hearted artist from the association Théodora working for hospitalized children, accompanied them on the flute. Freediving champion Rémy Dubern spoke about the benefits of his sport for people with reduced mobility. Solène Basthard-Bogain, a biologist diver from Septentrion Environnement, presented this association which interfaces between stakeholders and sea practitioners for a reasoned and shared use of this space. Audrey Dubern, freediver ambassador of theLongitude 181 association, discussed the essential awareness of marine environments. Marie-Laure Truyol represented France 3 Provence Alpes for « Together it’s better », the chain’s new program on mutual aid and solidarity. And in the midst of it all, Jean-Marc Barr played along in all simplicity, even taking… the helm!

At the center, actor Jean-Marc Barr surrounded by members of the l’Ile Eau association and their guests.

That day, the Frioul cove philosophized: from the state of the oceans to the knowledge of the sea passed on to younger generations, from the interest of the marine environment for sick or handicapped audiences to the research on algae to aid science, from collapse theories to the wildest hopes… minds wandered, ideas sprang forth… a brainstorming session sprinkled with sea spray where each one imagined a world where humans would respect themselves, their kin, and the surrounding environment…

Later in the evening, the screening of Jean-Marc Barr’s latest film at the Le César cinema in Marseille, « The Human Particle », turned out to be the terrestrial counterpart to this maritime escapade. Between unreasoned agriculture and a catastrophic futuristic scenario, between hope and despair, everyone, as in The Big Blue, imagined a happy or more pessimistic ending to the film we are all playing, both as directors, actors, and producers… the opening of a great two-hour debate evening animated by associations on the marine environment like Palana Environnement, which revalues fishing gear found at sea, or the collective « One waste per day » to make our spaces cleaner, with testimonies from spectators, commented on kindly by Jean-Marc, transformed for the occasion into an engaged host, a fervent defender of the environmental cause.
