On the program for this edition: over 100 photo exhibitions, 40 hours of conferences, forums on naturalist knowledge and photography, the presence of 4,000 schoolchildren, meetings with photographers, a bookstore area, and a major photo contest.

An unmissable event for wildlife and nature photography lovers for 22 years, the Montier-en-Der festival dedicates this year’s majority of its exhibitions to the theme of water.

From ocean floors to coral reefs, glaciers to mountains, rare in the desert and a source of life in temperate regions… water is everywhere, and photographers around the world capture it in all its forms.

A hundred exhibitions will be spread across 14 sites between Montier-en-Der, Ceffonds, Droyes, Giffaumont-Champaubert, and Vitry-Le-François. Among the exhibitors, find notable underwater photographers: Laurent Ballesta, Pascal Kobeh, Stéphane Granzotto, Alexis Rosenfeld… They will sit alongside big names in nature photography and video among them the two patrons of this edition: Jacques Perrin, director of Microcosmos, ofOceans ou Winged Migration, and wildlife photographer Vincent Munier, specialist of cold regions.

Seven major themes will be the connecting thread of these exhibitions:

  • saltwater: unknown and threatened,
  • above the waves,
  • freshwater: rare and precious,
  • from the roof of the world to polar ice,
  • wealth of biodiversity,
  • nearby wild nature,
  • the nature of man.
