Adventurers, extreme explorers, great traveling athletes, pioneers… The Écrans de l’aventure festival – of which Dive in! is a partner – pays tribute to the men and women who push their limits and live extraordinary adventures. From October 5 to 8, 19 documentary films tracing the journeys of these modern adventurers were screened for the public and the festival jury.
During this 26th edition: 16 films in competition and the presence of the majority of the filmmakers and explorers, 16 stories of adventurers setting out to conquer the sea, of far-off territories, rock, ice, or the sky. Noteworthy is the presence of Bertrand Piccard, pilot of the Solar Impulse, who achieved the first solar-powered flight around the world between 2015 and 2016. He presented the film recounting his adventure Solar Impulse, the impossible journey around the world, produced by Stéphane Millière.
Three films were presented out of competition: The Stranger and the Peul Child by Vincent Hanrion, White October, on the summits of the revolution by Christophe Raylat following the adventures of Sylvain Tesson, and the documentary by director Jérôme Espla, Saint-Exupéry, from Clouds to Depths. This film retraces the adventure of a team of divers, journalists, and historians immersing themselves in the Mediterranean to uncover the secrets of the disappearance of the French writer. Luc Vanrell, who discovered the wreck of Saint-Exupéry’s P-38, spoke at the end of the screening. He signed in advance his latest book: Saint-Exupéry, Revelations on His Disappearance.

The official opening of the festival was announced on Thursday, October 5, in the presence of the president of the film jury, Anne Quéméré.
