For the new school year, the Cité de l’Océan in Biarritz is innovating with an animation that immerses you virtually in Australian waters and the Red Sea.Equipped with headphones and a virtual reality headset, you can look in all directions, up, down, front, and back: you are literally projected into a 360° underwater journey across the globe. In the role of a diver, you find yourself in the water while keeping your feet dry in the specially designed room of the Cité de l’Océan for the animation. A non-slip floor and handrails have been installed to ensure freedom of movement while avoiding imbalances. You will then be able to easily look in all directions, lose your bearings, and experience a dizzying sense of freedom.

The film shown in the headset is a 2’20 video, Underwater, produced by Studio Neige. Swimming with rays, turtles, and fish near the Great Barrier Reef in Australia or being transported amidst dolphins in the Red Sea is the unique experience this film offers. This animation is open to seasoned divers, who might be frustrated at not actually being in the water, amateurs, newbies, and all other visitors to the venue and ocean lovers. Those who have never dared to make their first bubbles might well be persuaded to try after having this wonderful experience.

Animation included in the entrance fee of the Cité de l’Océan.
