It contributes to monitoring, tracking, and enhancing marine and terrestrial biodiversity in La Réunion and the Indian Ocean, as well as disseminating information and raising awareness among the population from an early age.

The MAEO project, launched in 2021, revolves around several objectives: field research (camera placements, exploratory dives to inventory present species, and an eco-participative network) and awareness-raising actions for the general public and schools, organized to transmit and share this knowledge.
