From September 21 to 24, 2016, in Saint-Raphaël, the 36th French Underwater Photography Championship was held alongside the national underwater video challenge. For this edition, the jury was composed of Thierry Rolland (regional audiovisual commission East of the FFESSM and president of the jury), Catherine Ragot (commission for underwater photography and video of the FFESSM), Didier Noirot (former diver and underwater photographer of the Cousteau team on the Calypso from 1986 to 1997) and Pascal Kobeh (author and underwater photographer). The various participants in this competition had to provide 6 images each distributed in different categories (macro, fish, ambiance, mobile fauna, and one image for the imposed theme which this year was « sand »).
