Going offshore, in the dead of night, to explore dizzying ocean floors and capture images of incredible creatures… Such was my mission during my first Black Dive. Although my photos did not meet my expectations, the experience itself was memorable!

A night of exploration
At 9:00 PM, the sky is black and silent, illuminated only by the full moon, discreetly veiled. Our boat moves slowly over a calm sea, an essential condition for this night dive. Alongside Alain, Calou, Christophe, Nicolas, Dominique, Hervé, and Yann, we sail between Isla Verde and the east coast of Mindoro, 600 meters above an oceanic fault. Here reside mysterious microorganisms, participating every night in the world’s largest vertical animal migration as they rise to the surface.
