The Underwater Revelation: How Apnea Crossed His Path
How did you come to diving, then apnea, only four years ago?
« I wanted to discover another world, to evolve, to dive both literally and figuratively, and to get out of my comfort zone. The underwater environment was an obvious choice. I started with scuba diving. During the summer of 2017, in Cap d’Agde (Hérault), I encountered apnea divers underwater! It was a revelation. »
A love at first sight for what, exactly?
« Seeing them move without bubbles, without equipment, merging into the marine environment. Envied their resemblance to fish, feeling them in tune with a world that’s not the realm of earthlings. Their majestic, light gestures gave a superior dimension to what they were doing. By September 2017, I had joined the Nautile Club in Grenoble. By November 2017, I was participating in my first competition in Echirolles. »
