This past weekend, the 21st freshwater images event – partnered by Plongez! – took place in Sévrier, on the shores of Lake Annecy. 10 photographers from Paca, Nouvelle-Aquitaine and Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, immersed themselves for two 90-minute sessions, at Beau-Rivage in the morning and at Chavoire in the afternoon. Participants were able to capture up to 150 images. They then selected 5 photos to present to the jury, among which three images compete for the French wildlife cup (which has 7 rounds).
In the evening, the film Le France was screened. Directed by Stéphane Santini, it traces a century of history of the most famous wreck of Lake Annecy using numerous vintage documents as well as interviews with personalities involved in the ship’s life. The screening concluded with a Q&A session providing additional information, particularly on the genesis of the film and its production.
The next day, the jury deliberated before announcing the winners of this 2018 edition.
