Last week, the French freediver Arthur Guérin-Boëri set a record by swimming 120 meters under the ice of Lake Sonnanen, in Finland. The five-time world champion, a specialist in dynamic apnea, swam 120 meters in breaststroke wearing only a 2mm wetsuit, in 2°C water, a first in this discipline.
The Frenchman trained in the lakes of the Nice hinterland, and was also seen this winter immersing himself in swimwear in the Canal de l’Ourcq, in the Paris basin. And he doesn’t plan on stopping there! This new record is just a step in his preparation for a new feat next year: a swimwear apnea under ice, on 105 meters.
