On June 22, the Beausoleil service area, on the A8 motorway, was renovated and renamed the French Riviera area. The inauguration of this redesigned space highlighted a new exhibition dedicated to the underwater world to raise awareness among visitors!
This inauguration day was the occasion to unveil the exhibition Surprising Mediterranean installed on the panoramic terrace of the rest area. A space offering a sublime view over the heights of Monaco and the Great Blue. The purpose of these images? To encourage travelers, young and old, on holiday journeys to adopt good practices (limit plastic use, do not discard cigarette butts in nature…) to protect the Mediterranean and its entire biodiversity. It presents a whole range of species dwelling in the region’s seabed, from tiny shrimp to cetaceans offshore, and the threats they face daily.

This exhibition joins those already set up on several rest areas of the Vinci network. It is installed there for a period of three years with the goal of reaching as many vacationers as possible and raising their awareness of this underwater wealth.
The inauguration took place in the presence of the mayors of the communities of the French Riviera conurbation, it is organized by Vinci motorway and the Galathea festival, in partnership with the Rhône-Méditerranée-Corse Water Agency, the OFB (French Biodiversity Office), and the Southern Region.
