Dive computers are used by all recreational divers. Many divers completely trust the indications of what is merely a tool to aid desaturation. And while diving is safe today, the desaturation accidents that persist occur despite adhering to computer guidelines in 70% to 90% of cases. This means dive computers do many things but not everything. Beyond marketing speeches and opinions, understanding their capabilities and limitations allows for the safest possible dives.
