On May 4, 2019, under the watchful eye of the Guardian Treasure – a statue submerged 17 meters deep – the Duo d’eau photo contest took place in the Marine of Sainte-Rose, on the east of Reunion Island. This competition, organized by the Rivages et Patrimoine association, is part of a more ambitious operation to identify the marine biodiversity of the island’s eastern coast: reef fauna, sessile fauna and plants, supported by the French Biodiversity Agency. Marc Munich, secretary of Rivages et Patrimoine, wished to thank the participants, volunteers, jury members, contributors, the municipality, and the subaquatic club of Sainte-Rose for making this first contest a success: « we will sustain this action, which, exceptionally, will take place twice this year. The next meeting is scheduled for November! » »
