Biodiversity in Port-Cros National Park!
The nature of biodiversity is its perpetual evolution. However, species today may encounter difficulties in adapting or may not even be able to adapt. Indeed, they are subjected to changes occurring at a speed and with intensities much greater than those of natural phenomena..https://vimeo.com/557967238.Moreover, biodiversity is subjected to a multitude of pressures whose effects are cumulative. The global changes we observe today are imposed on organisms that are often already weakened by pollution in their environment, habitat fragmentation, or the extraction pressure they are subjected to..https://vimeo.com/557967160.This exhibition aims to present some of the species of Port-Cros National Park. Some of them are emblematic, others more confidential, but each embodies a strategic conservation issue for all ecosystems and biodiversity in the face of current changes.
We invite you to discover the faunal and floral wealth within Port-Cros National Park and also to understand the collective responsibility that is ours..

Created in 1963, the Port-Cros National Park is located on the Hyères Islands and the Var coast. It is the first marine park in Europe, with its core areas, Port-Cros and Porquerolles, covering 1,700 ha of land and 2,900 ha of marine spaces. This area is extended by the adhesion area on the coast and the adjacent marine area between La Garde and Ramatuelle. The National Park partners with local actors and elected officials to preserve natural and cultural heritage while accommodating the public of this major French tourist destination.
Established in 1979 on the island of Porquerolles, the National Botanical Conservatory is managed by the National Park. Throughout the French Mediterranean region, it works to conserve plant species and habitats.
The Pelagos Sanctuary is a maritime area covered by an agreement between France, Monaco, and Italy. It is Port-Cros National Park that animates the French part. This area contributes to the protection and monitoring of cetaceans.
