On March 9 and 10, 2018, the 16th edition of Festisub, the underwater image festival in Neuchâtel, attracted over 1600 spectators. They came in large numbers to admire the work of underwater photographers such as Michel Roggo and his images captured in fresh water around the world, Cécile Francey and her photos of Lake Neuchâtel, or Rémi Masson diving into wild environments he was the first to discover and photograph just a few kilometers from his home.
Several exhibitions were organized during this festival: Marco Colombo presented his work in fresh water; Laurent Ballesta, the festival’s patron, came to speak about the Gombessa IV expedition among 700 grey sharks in Polynesia; a selection of the most beautiful photos among the 1000 images submitted to the Festisub contest was also exhibited at the Aula des Jeunes-Rives space.
The photo contest was divided into two categories: sea duo and fresh water. In each category, three photographers stood out. A series of special mentions were also awarded.
