Greg Lecœur Exhibition at La Gacilly Photo Festival

As part of its commitment to the major environmental challenges of our societies, the La Gacilly photo festival is honoring this year the Frenchman Greg Lecœur, who tirelessly explores the beauties of our marine environment and encourages the protection of this fragile ecosystem. To be discovered from July 1st to October 31st in Brittany.

Observe, contemplate, respect this nature that gives us life. This has always been the mission of the La Gacilly Photo Festival, which takes place every summer since 2004, outdoors in the gardens, shopping streets, and alleys of the village of La Gacilly, between Rennes and Vannes.

This year, due to Covid-19, the festival has had to reduce its program and adjust its schedule: it will officially open its « doors » on July 1st and close them on October 31st. Its duration remains the same (4 months), the festival is just shifted in time. More than 600 large-format photos are accessible at any time for free.

The main theme of this edition, « Viva Latina », highlights the work of photographers from Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador, and Chile.

And in the context of its commitment to the major environmental issues of our societies, this year the festival honors the French Greg Lecœur, who constantly explores the beauties of our marine environment and encourages the protection of this fragile ecosystem. The underwater photographer has excelled in this specialty by capturing up close the silent dance of southern right whales, sea leopards, and even tiny creatures inhabiting the ocean floors. The exhibition traces the greatest shots of his career in photography that, being closest to the animals, revolutionizes the genre.
