You have until January 31 to support Stop Finning EU by signing the European Citizens’ Initiative against the trade of shark fins in Europe.
Every hour, between 11,000 and 30,000 sharks are killed to fuel the fin trade to Asia. The aim of this citizens’ initiative is to ban this trade in Europe.
Sharks, positioned at the top of the food chain, are essential for maintaining the balance of underwater biodiversity. This commitment would also help reduce the cruel practice of finning, which involves cutting off the sharks’ fins before throwing them back into the water, leaving them to sink and eventually die. Finally, it could minimize the slaughter of shark species threatened with extinction.
To change the law in the European Parliament, 1 million signatures are needed and must be collected before January 31, 2022. To support this initiative, follow the QR code opposite or visit this site.
