What if the silent world could speak? It’s the idea that the association » A Ocean of Life » chaired by René Heuzey had. Director and producer, this expert in underwater filming has not less than a hundred television shows, reports, and internationally recognized films to his credit. By using his notoriety, this globetrotter first wanted to use images to make us aware of a very worrying phenomenon: the general pollution of the oceans. But we can still act…

A TV series and two DVDs…From the large brown Mediterranean grouper to the tiny cleaner shrimp, from the world of jellyfish to the very impressive great white shark, all will have their say. Thalassa and Label Bleu Production (the audiovisual production company of René Heuzey) have teamed up to present to you « A Ocean of Life », which is the first web-series from Thalassa. It aims to introduce a range of marine animals in a playful and entertaining way. Mixing seriousness and humor, impactful anecdotes, and precise scientific information, each episode of 1 to 1.5 minutes allows an iconic or lesser-known underwater animal species to make its self-portrait. Involving the participation of real actors, the stories are told in the first person. The goal is to inform, engage, but never fall into catastrophism. The editing is dynamic, accompanied by music and a different sound atmosphere each time for each animal.

The « A Ocean of Life » DVDs, each containing 20 episodes, offer you to dive into the heart of the oceans to meet their inhabitants:
No. 1 offers you a range of well-known species from the Mediterranean Sea like the octopus, monkfish, or scorpion fish, while No. 2 takes you to discover extraordinary species living from the Arctic to the tropics such as the polar bear, cleaner shrimp, and great white shark.
You can order the DVDs or BLURAYs. DVDs « A Ocean of Life -1- The Mediterranean » and « A Ocean of Life -2- From the Arctic to the Tropics » are at €10.00 and the BLURAYs at €15.00.
The DVD No. 1 « A Ocean of Life » received the Special Jury Prize at the 42nd World Festival of Underwater Image in Marseille in 2015.
Note that the drawings on the covers were made by Franck Girelli, author of the comics » Plus Belle la Mer » and » Ô Bonne Mer « .
A great opportunity to discover or introduce your friends to the presumed silent world… that can finally be heard! Don’t miss the wonderful stories of « A Ocean of Life ».
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q3dKlzANawU…But above all, a daily collective eco-citizen project« A Ocean of Life » is also an eco-citizen project imagined by René Heuzey that was born from a simple observation: every year, several million tons of waste are dumped into the oceans. We are all responsible, closely or distantly, and we can all act at our level and daily to fight against this marine pollution. What if everyone who came across a piece of trash during their walk by the sea, river or lake picked it up or brought it to the surface? Imagine the tons of debris we could take out of the water and that could be recycled! The goal is to get everyone to become an eco-volunteer.
Thus each volunteer can equip themselves with a small blue net bag provided in public or private places, clubs or shops participating in the operation and identified by a sticker. They can collect the waste found at sea or on the beach during a diving or kayaking trip, for example. The collected waste will then be thrown into blue bins provided for this purpose installed in diving clubs, sailing or water sports, harbormasters, on the docks. All collected items will be listed on an identification and observation sheet to create a map of the world’s most polluted areas.
To support this ambitious young association, Longitude 181 Nature among others, originally from the international diver’s responsible charter decided to promote this beautiful initiative, and participated in financing the purchase of small nets to slip into a buoyancy vest or beach bag.

Currently, the association « A Ocean of Life » is looking for partners who would like to join this operation or provide resources: local authorities, sponsors, manufacturers, commercial brands, or just individuals! The international dimension has already evolved as contacts have already been made in Italy, New Zealand, Honduras, Morocco, and in the department of Guadeloupe. To become an ambassador : www.unoceandevie.com/fr/partner/signup
