A Fresh Perspective on the World

Diving has the power to regenerate our mind, soul, and body. Some divers analyze the benefits they gain from each immersion, whether with tanks or freediving. Beyond the physical experience, they share their feelings and theorize about their well-being.

Yoga and Diving: A Perfect Synergy

Nathalie Soyer, yoga teacher and physiotherapist, explores the links between these two disciplines, drawing on her personal and professional experience.

She explains: « Diving requires confidence and self-awareness, as well as good physical fitness and an optimal mental state to fully enjoy and do so safely. The diver must manage many simultaneous parameters, which requires concentration, analysis, and reactivity. They may face cold, currents, swells, poor visibility, evolving in an unusual environment, a source of stress and discomfort. »

For Nathalie, yoga is a wonderful tool to prepare the body and mind for diving, anticipating difficulties, and multiplying benefits. « Yoga calms the mind, improves perception and analysis, and rebalances the metabolism. It releases unnecessary tensions and promotes harmony with oneself and the environment. The respiratory aspect is essential, and yoga teaches conscious breathing and optimizing ventilatory capacity. »
