Pascal Kobeh: Underwater Contemplation

Pascal Kobeh describes himself as a « contemplative, not in a hurry » type, capable of spending an entire week in the same spot to photograph bull sharks or patiently waiting for the fleeting mating of cuttlefish. For thirty years, he has been exploring and immortalizing animal behaviors, making this passion his signature in magazines, galleries, and festivals.

« At sea, anything can happen. It is an absolutely wild world, » confides Pascal, who has completed nearly 8000 dives. His experience allows him to « sense » situations and animal attitudes. His goal: to capture scenes of hunting, cleaning, and interactions that reveal life in the ocean.

Collaboration with the film « Oceans »

From 2006 to 2010, Pascal Kobeh participated in the filming of Jacques Perrin’s film « Oceans. » Integrated into the team in Moorea, he brought back exceptional images of humpback whales, using an analog camera, faithful to his beginnings in 1992 in the Maldives.
