After more than 20 years of underwater explorations and visual quests, I was inspired by a photo taken from the space station. It was this image that prompted me to plan an expedition to a mysterious place, seeking clues on a little-explored and unknown terrain.

The Eye of Quebec

Named « the Eye of Quebec », this 1942 km² reservoir is a fascinating place, visible from space and located in the heart of the boreal forest. Also known as Lake Manicouagan, it contains hidden stories, including that of an ancient meteorite crater, as well as the heritage of the Pessamit Innu, an Indigenous people of Quebec.

In the midst of the pandemic, I surround myself with two adventure companions: Mjee, my faithful partner, and Jacques, an experienced captain. Together, we prepare for a journey of over 1000 km from Montreal, due to the absence of underwater images of this area. We equip ourselves with a motorized dinghy, a compressor, and our diving gear.
