Located in Baie-Mahault, Guadeloupe, the Agency Caraïbes of the design office Créocéan excels in the fields of marine environment and oceanography. Its mission is to assist companies and communities in their projects, while striving to preserve the richness of the coastline and the marine environment. Among the 8 team members, the majority are hyperbaric divers, specialists in environmental diagnostics.

From Call for Tenders to Project Implementation

Every Monday morning, a team meeting led by Florian Labadie, the agency manager, sets the pace for the week. This essential moment allows reviewing new project calls, ongoing project follow-ups, and the weekly organization. The team discusses new opportunities together, selecting relevant tenders. The projects vary greatly: ecological diagnostics, environmental monitoring, species inventories, or port developments.

Implementation Steps

Once a project is selected, Créocéan develops a commercial proposal (or ‘propal’) based on the collective expertise of the team. After obtaining approval, several key steps must be followed:

  1. Meeting with the project leader
  2. Bibliographic study
  3. Field observations and dives
  4. Data collection and processing
  5. Drafting the final report

Diving: An Essential Activity

Diving plays a central role in the agency’s missions, essential for projects related to coral environments and seagrass beds. The agency Caraïbes, in fact, conducts more than 50 dives per year per diver. These immersions allow monitoring biocoenoses, inventories, and analyzing the state of environments before, during, and after developments.
