This morning, an unusual bustle fills the beach. Everything is ready to welcome those who want to try the adventure: a sub hiking tour! Equipment and hiking are free and accessible to everyone. After a briefing on how to use the equipment, set off for a twenty-minute walk with a guide.
For 10 years, Objectif Atlantide has been traveling the Mediterranean coast beaches to introduce the public to the treasures of Nemo’s world. « At the time, nothing was done to bring the general public to the underwater world, » explains Daniel Meouchy, founder of the association. This initiative was immediately supported by the French federation of underwater studies and sports, equipment manufacturer Beuchat, insurer Lafont and the cities hosting the event.
« We protect what we know, » continues Daniel Meouchy, « and the best way to do that is to show sea users that the places where they swim are also living spaces. »
