Raymond Bertois’s Inspiration

“What if I made a housing with lamps to film what I see in the Mediterranean?” thought Raymond Bertois in the early 1980s. This Savoyard, technical director of an electrical equipment company, trained in autonomous diving and founded Bersub in 1988. Pierre Bertois, who succeeded his father in the early 2000s, recalls: “When we started, there was no lighting suitable for divers, except for safety lamps. We approached diving clubs, the national Navy, and the Army, which needed powerful and sturdy torches.”
