The meeting of sea and ocean lovers concluded on Monday, January 11 with more than satisfactory results: a record number of visitors and exhibitors, an increasingly marked international presence, activities followed with passion… A return in figures on the flagship annual event in France of the diving, freediving, and ocean world.410This is the number of exhibitors who came to showcase their new products in hall 4 of the Exhibition Center, Porte de Versailles in Paris, invited by Hélène de Tayrac, founder and president of the Show. 37% of them came from abroad, some even traveling from Papua New Guinea!1,100This is the number – also a record – of initiation dives carried out in the large pool set up for the occasion. Freediving, scuba diving, or diving with a helmet, scientific diving demonstrations by the police, and other equipment tests captivated the crowd that gathered in a friendly atmosphere around the pool. A journalist from the magazine Plongez! took the opportunity to slip into a dry suit for the first time, guided by diver-instructor-explorer Alban Michon.

55,500This is the total number of visitors the Show received in 3 and a half days! A historic turnout that also highlights the increasing public adherence to environmental causes, the theme of the 2016 edition.

The next meeting is already set: the 19th edition of the International Dive Show will take place from January 6 to 9, 2017. Rumors already mention a strong theme…
