The Wisesa: from Biarritz, Gilles Petit roamed the Indonesian archipelago of Raja Ampat with his backpack. He fell in love with the place and decided he needed a boat to explore the world’s largest archipelago from island to island with friends. The Wisesa is a 28m wooden sailboat.

Memorable memories

Onboard instructors experience intense moments. Jennifer Gillioz remembers a memorable dive at the border of Eritrea, on the Dahrat Abid site. « One morning, Sébastien (my colleague and partner) went searching for hammerhead sharks at 40m, while I stayed with the divers at 25m. Then we swapped places, and the magic happened. The hammerhead sharks began to rise. The group was incredibly calm. That day, we were in harmony with the sharks! » she recounts. Jennifer, an instructor at Diving Attitude since 2016, enjoyed two great seasons in Sudan in 2018 and 2019.

Originally from Valais, she discovered diving in the Red Sea during a vacation in Hurghada. « I felt an immediate fascination with the marine world. At 18, I decided to settle in Egypt, » she explains. She first worked at Seafari’s booking office while undergoing her diver training. Having become a PADI-SDI instructor, she spent two years on day trips to gain experience before taking to the sea. « The cruises offer a broader playground with the possibility to discover new species and shipwrecks. Sometimes, choosing the sites is a real dilemma because I love everything I see, » adds Jennifer.
