Whether they work in Marseille, the bay of Saint-Brieuc, Hendaye, or Guadeloupe, their mission remains the same: to guide each person in their progress and ensure unforgettable experiences in complete safety. Meet four of these instructors, a blend of sharing, teaching, and authenticity.
Sharing and transmitting: the heart of the diving instructor’s profession
« People spent time teaching me to dive, to bring me joy underwater. Now it’s my turn to pass it on, to create these shared moments, to see eyes light up. Few professions receive as much gratitude when we’re just doing our job, » confides Jean-Christophe Belivier. With his partner Nadine Stoll, he has been running since January 2018 Les Heures Saines, a landmark center facing the rock of Malendure in Bouillante, Guadeloupe. Moving to the island was a true lifestyle choice: « When you put all your belongings in a container for Guadeloupe, the decision is clear! »
Jean-Christophe’s vocation was confirmed in Djibouti, while in the military, during his debut at the Héron club. Later transferred to the Antilles, he completed his MF1 and trained his military colleagues before starting his reconversion: training in boat maintenance, then obtaining the DEJEPS in Hendaye in 2015. He perfected his experience during a season with PlanetOcean (Basque Country). In this center run by Olivier, young instructors test their skills in real conditions.
